When he appeared on the May 10 episode of SBS “Strong Heart,” Cheon Dung confessed that he had never been involved in the first album of MBLAG.
At the age of 17, he came to Korea from the Philippines in hopes of becoming a singer. As a fan of Rain, he had two times of the auditions of Rain’s J. Tune Entertainment, but to no avail. The music company to which IU has belonged was his next best choice, where he had been preparing to debut as a singer when he was recommended to take an audition of the Rain’s company one more time.
In the audition, Rain gave quite a harsh review: “I cannot see your passion.” But Cheon Dung aggressively responded, “I’m determined to put my life to be a singer.” His strong will finally impressed Rain to involve him in the boy group MBLAG just eight days before the planned date of its debut.
That’s why the first album has the voice of the ‘original’ member replaced with Cheon Dung. When the new member was adopted, it was too late to put off their debut as the first-album recording had been completed and the news about them has already been released. Worse, he wasn’t familiar with rap music at that time to surpass the ‘original’ member. In the show “Strong Heart”, He spoke candidly of his then difficulties: The recognition that he’s the worst part of MBLAG had driven him to cry almost three times a week. But he smiled broadly, saying “But from the second album, you’re sure to hear my real voice.”
His dance performance was followed, amazing enough to steal women fans’ hearts.
